To get matching volume levels on the 1983 CD I had to apply +5db in Audacity's Amplify plugin. I loaded Got Me Under Pressure in Audacity and A/B'ed against this YouTube 2008 remaster. This uses the single mix of "Legs", but in a full lenght version (the proper single version fades early), which had previously only appeared on Greatest Hits.ĭidn't realize I had the 1983 Eliminator CD. This uses the album versions of "Legs" and is the loud and brickwalled mastering.Īfter complaints about Eliminator in the box set it was replaced in later copies (and is what you'd get if you buy it now) with a brand new remaster which is available nowhere else. That box set initially used the mastering that had been done for the 2008 Collector's Edition release, which is this one. There are two versions of this around on different pressings, one with the album version of "Legs" and one with the single version (different mix and early fade), and I don't know if there is a way to know which one you're getting (I think this possibly only appies to US pressings and that European pressings all have the album version, but I'm not sure). Click to expand. The one you have linked to is the original 1983 CD (a repressing of it anyway), so nothing to do with what's in The Complete Studio Albums box set.
